Playing NFL Weekly Pick Em

By Juliette Cruz

Perhaps when most people think of fantasy football games, they imagine the original type of game, where participants coach their own virtual teams. This type of game is still widely prevalent. But there are other options out there today that are equally as fun. One such option is the NFL weekly pick em challenge.

This is not only fun for players, but also a lot easier to manage. As the name suggests, folks simply need to sign in each week and pick winners. Basically, one just looks at the games scheduled each week and tries to determine which team will win each match up.

Sounds easy for sure. But it is not. Upsets are never uncommon. And of course, there are always the really good games in which two top notch teams battle it out. There may be a slight favorite, with only home field advantage working for them.

These online offerings are perfect for people who just do not really have the time to spend each week managing a team of their own. They are too busy to go in checking waiver positions, concocting and making trades with their opponents and moving players back and for to the IR, the bench and the starting positions.

Pick em games are also good for people who are not as up-to-date on their football player knowledge. While a lot of fans can tell you the complete lineups of every single team in the NFL, other fans only have basic knowledge of who plays where and how good teams are overall. For them, predicting game winners is a more manageable task.

These pick em type games are becoming more and more popular. Many sports sites offer them for free. The prizes are enticing and worth the effort. A simple internet search will yield many matches and hook you up with sites where, for just a few minutes each week, you can compete for gift cards, electronics, cars and even cash prizes.

As mentioned, it is not as easy as one might think. A little research could make the difference. For example, a check on the weather predictions could help you decide on certain teams to select. Knowing which teams are used to playing in artificial turf might make a difference with your selections.

Certainly knowing about any major injuries on a team would be beneficial. You surely do not want to choose one team only to find out later that their star quarterback will not be playing that week. Interesting little stats can also be useful. This could be things like knowing that some teams tend to play better in the early games, or on Mondays, or in October.

We all love to play certain games. And when we can win something cool, it makes it all the better. Participating in an NFL weekly pick em can only enhance your enjoyment of the sport you love so much. Have fun!
