How To Design Your Personal Playing Cards

By Hadwin Maynard

Did you know that you can design your own playing cards? Having the basics on the symbols and numbers of cards in one deck would be enough for you to go on and have your own styles. The usual symbols - hearts, spades, cloves and diamonds - can be foregone. There are so many creative symbols that you can use, all of them readily drawn from various sources and inspirations. There is a certain code that applies to playing cards, and you should stick to them as you customize your playing cards. Do not think of this as being limiting to your creativity. Then you will have a deck of cards that you will have no trouble using.

Normally, one deck of cards is comprised of fifty two cards. It is up to you if your deck of customized playing cards will also have fifty two cards, or you can have a deck of lesser cards. This will, of course, be influenced by the kind of card game that will be played using the deck of cards you are customizing. There are certain card games that can only be played using more than fifty two cards in the deck. You'd be justified in having more cards on your deck. If you are creative enough, you can invent a card game using your personal set of playing cards that have extra cards featuring new symbols.

At times customization of cards can as simple as printing letters. Choose the symbols, prepare the unique design you'd want for your customized cards, and find the right print paper. You can make cards that have your pictures, those of nature, animals, people, cars, for your business, etc. these will go on the back of the cards. Of course, in order to come up with the designs, you'd require the use of a computer A good color printer will also have to be used. If your creativity fades you can take a peek through the internet to see what ideas it will help generate. You can even find a lot of ready made designs on the internet that you can readily use for your customized cards.

If you think that you are totally incapable of coming up with your own designs, the internet could also be your source for the designs that you will use. There are so many websites that you can go to just to have your playing cards designed. Some offer templates that you can use and will also give you several suggestions in terms of designs that you can add to your customized deck of cards. This will enable you to customize decks of cards in a short period of time. However, it won't be as fun as coming up with your own design. Customization of things is always engaging and fun, something that should be evident even when making your own deck of playing cards.

Granted technology is there; the computers and printers that you can use to make the cards. However, that will not beat the joy of designing hand-made playing cards. What you need to come up with a design for your playing cards are creativity, the right tools, and support from your friends.
