Rafi Amit entered the poker world as a surprise and once again causes something to talk about. This year has seen his profits grow considerably despite major losses. As of spring this year he was at $767,000. The summer showed some rocky shores with a down spell of over $800,000 in the hole during mid july. Just in september now he won a grand $1 million converting him into the biggest winner of 2011 so far with a $ 1.8 million profit.

His first Bracelet was in 2009 with a wining of $237,415 on the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha. In 2011 his second Bracelet was won on the Six Handed Omaha with a $5,000 pot limit and earnings of $619,575. In 2010 and 2011 Mercier won the North American Poker Tour in the Mohegan Sun Bounty Shootout tournaments.

What made some sparks in that World Series of Poker Tournament was his penalty for swearing at the table. He was the first player to ever incur a penalty for swearing at a WSOP final and had to sit out for 10 minutes watching nearly $200,000 of his chips get swiped away by Vinn Vinh.

Unfortunately this talent led the university to revoke his scholarship whereupon he began attending a local college, coaching kids' sports, substitute teaching and polishing his skills in the world of Poker. Las Vegas Poker Tournaments

Soon he proved to be an accomplished player and entered live tournaments winning before the age of 21. His first major victory was at the San Remo EPT walking away with $1.4 million. Since then he has consistently proved his skill at the table and his total winning surpass $6,500,000.
