Riverton Wyoming Hotels For Yellowstone Travelers

By Marla Mills

It's no big surprise that Riverton Wyoming hotels are almost always full up or close to it. It's mostly because of the fact that it is the main gateway city into Yellowstone National Park, and gets an enormous amount of thoroughfare. Not to mention the fact that it is the largest city in the middle of the massive half-million acre zone that was historically within the Wind River Indian Reservation.

The central location and the city's size make it the perfect base for exploring the Wind River Country beauty and tourist attractions. Being located on the banks of the Big Wind River makes it that much more of an outdoor paradise. Finding a place to stay is easy because hotels are set in groups, and visitors can choose a location best suited to their itinerary.

The biggest group is obviously the set of national park visitors on US Highway 26 on their way to or from Yellowstone. Many are road trippers who also want to enjoy what is billed to be among the most scenic routes in the nation. Yet others come to this region for outdoor activities and recreation such as fishing on the Boysen Reservoir and hot air ballooning, in addition to the traditional foray into Yellowstone.

A traveler may arrive in Riverton on US-26 or State Hwy 789 and check in quickly and easily into the hotels lined up along the routes leading in and out of the main city area. One large group of establishments can be found on East and West Main Street. The other one is bunched up along N. Federal Boulevard. Both sets of locations are equally convenient for those who are already in the city, because the two routes intersect in the city center.

These hotels are ideal for travelers on an overnight stop, and for those staying for a couple of days while they explore the region's natural beauty and attractions. Most hotels are family-friendly, and offer connecting rooms and other facilities and amenities that couples with children will find useful. Pets are usually allowed to stay with guests in their rooms. However, it's better to check beforehand while booking the stay.

Guests will find everything from cable television and in-room telephones to Wi-Fi connectivity and swimming pools. Most also provide common use facilities such as parking lots for RVs and trailers, laundry service, and fitness centers. A diner or restaurant on the premises will provide room service, coffee/tea and continental breakfast for guests.

Some among the many people who come here are tourists looking around at the local sights and attractions in the Wind River Country. One of these heavily visited tourist hotspots is Sacajawea's burial site on the Indian Reservation. Many visitors spend a lot of time and money in the casinos. Thousands of people flood the city every now and then for one of the many festivals and fairs that Riverton hosts each year.

For all these visitors, Riverton Wyoming hotels around the city center offer an ideal location. Many of these establishments are business-friendly, and have everything from meeting rooms with A/V equipment to full-service business centers. It's more than likely that everyone who comes here, regardless of their choice of hotel, will enjoy a fairly good level of hospitality and a memorable trip.
